Our Process

Xpand Process Overview

Although we have a standard set of processes and procedures, we recognize that each project and client is unique and requires individualized attention. Xpand will adapt our process as needed to meet your specific needs.

Phone Consultation

During the phone consultation, your Xpand project consultant will ask more detailed questions about your project goals and budget expectations. Working together, we will determine if your project is a good fit for Xpand and if we are a good fit for you. 

Site Visit

The site visit provides Xpand with an opportunity to review the project in your current space. During this visit, measurements and pictures may be taken, as well as a notation of any special circumstances that may affect construction. As we discuss the project, we begin to understand your needs, vision, and home.

Design Agreement

The next step, proceeding towards project completion, is a design agreement explaining what steps and efforts will be required to measure, draw, and design your project, as well as how we will develop a detailed scope of work and budgeting guidelines.

Design Process

Information will be gathered during your subsequent site visit, enabling our team to begin the design process. Using a CAD (computer-aided drafting) program, Xpand can show you 3D pictures of your proposed project before any construction takes place. During this time, your consultant will also work on pricing for your project. Depending on the scope of your project, this may include: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and other specialties. When the preliminary design and budget are completed, we will set an appointment to review them with you. We welcome your involvement during the design process–we want to be certain to answer any questions or address concerns you may have, and to feel comfortable and confident moving forward into final contract pricing. If the proposed budget and design meet your expectations, we will move forward with the final contract.

Construction Agreement

Our goal is to provide you with a final contract price that is as accurate as possible. Once the final numbers have been received and the price compiled, your project consultant will take time to review the plans and contract with you. Once your plans and contract have been signed, it’s time to proceed with your project!

Construction

During this phase, you will be introduced to Xpand’s project management staff, and a comprehensive schedule will be provided via our interactive online software. Final instructions and expectations for the project will be reviewed. Selected products and project materials will be ordered, and building permits will be pulled. We endeavor to provide you with the highest quality workmanship and communication–it is Xpand’s intention to treat your home with respect and care.

Project Completion/Warranty

Once your project is nearing completion, our staff will schedule a walk-through with you to ensure your project is done to your satisfaction. We will close out all inspections and permits, and your project is now finished! All finished projects move into the warranty phase.
