Xpand Process Overview

Although we have a standard set of processes and procedures, we recognize that each project and client is unique and requires individualized attention. Xpand will adapt our process as needed to meet your specific needs.

Initial Contact

Our process begins when you call, text, or email Xpand. However you contact us, we will request basic information to help us understand your project. If you didn’t reach out by phone, we will set up a time for a phone consultation.

Phone Consultation

During the phone consultation, your Xpand project consultant will ask detailed questions about your project goals and budget expectations. Together, we will determine if your project is a good fit for Xpand—and if we are a good fit for you.

Site Visit

The site visit provides Xpand the opportunity to review your project in its current space. During this visit, measurements and photos may be taken, and any special circumstances that could affect construction will be noted. As we discuss the project, we will gain a deeper understanding of your needs, your vision, and your home.

Design Agreement

The next step toward project completion is the design agreement. This agreement outlines the steps required to measure, draw, and design your project, as well as how we will develop a detailed scope of work and budgeting guidelines.

Design Process

During a subsequent site visit, additional information will be gathered to kick off the design process. Using CAD (computer-aided drafting) software, Xpand will create 3D renderings of your proposed project—allowing you to visualize the end result before construction begins.

Meanwhile, your consultant will work on pricing your project. Depending on the scope, this may include estimates for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and other specialties.

When the preliminary design and budget are completed, we will schedule a meeting to review them with you.

We encourage your involvement throughout the design process—we want to ensure all your questions are answered and that you feel comfortable and confident moving forward. If the proposed budget and design meet your expectations, we will proceed to the final contract.

Construction Agreement

Our goal is to provide you with a final contract price that is as accurate as possible. Once the final numbers are compiled, your project consultant will review the plans and contract with you in detail. Once everything is signed, it’s time to move forward with your project!

Construction

During this phase, you will be introduced to Xpand’s project management staff. A comprehensive schedule will be provided via our interactive online software.


Final instructions and project expectations will be reviewed. Selected products and project materials will be ordered, and building permits will be secured.

Project Completion & Warranty

As your project nears completion, we will schedule a walk-through with you to ensure everything meets your satisfaction. We will close out all inspections and permits, officially completing your project.

All finished projects automatically move into the warranty phase for your continued peace of mind.
